In compliance with the rules defined by the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), we inform you that there is a strict control over the validation of WHOIS data for generic top-level domains (gTLDs). This process aims to ensure that the data provided at the time of domain registration is valid, accurate, and up to date.
The validation or confirmation of WHOIS data is applied whenever changes are made to the WHOIS data or contacts of existing domains, whenever a domain is transferred to or from another entity, or when registering a new domain whose data has not yet been previously validated.
For validation purposes, whenever new data is entered, an email will be automatically sent to the domain holder. This email contains a validation link, which must be clicked within a maximum period of 15 days in order to complete the WHOIS data confirmation process. If the validation is not completed immediately, additional reminder emails will be sent on the 7th and 14th days, with the aim of preventing domain suspension.
If, after the 15-day period, the validation is not completed, all domains associated with that contact will be suspended until the data confirmation is successfully carried out.
It is important to note that validation is performed only once per email address or administrative contact. Therefore, if multiple domains are associated with the same contact, this process only needs to be completed once. This validation does not apply to existing domains, except in cases where changes are made to the WHOIS data or when a domain transfer occurs.
As is already the case, an annual email will also be sent in order to confirm and ensure that the WHOIS data remains up to date.
