a) Registrant
The registrant of a domain can be an individual or a legal entity. The registrant is responsible for choosing the domain name and assumes full responsibility for that choice. The registrant may choose to delegate the management of the registration and maintenance process to a managing entity (registrar), or alternatively, manage the domain directly through their reserved area on DNS.pt.

b) Domain Managing Entity (Registrar)
The domain managing entity, also called the registrar, is responsible for administering the registration process and maintaining the domain, acting as a subcontractor of the registrant. It is responsible for providing and keeping up-to-date the data submitted at the time of registration, both for administrative or financial purposes and for technical matters. The managing entity may hold the status of registration agent, serving as an intermediary between the registrant and the Registry.

c) Technical Contact
The technical contact is responsible for managing the domain’s DNS zone, including the configuration of the hosts within that zone. This entity must be able to analyze reports regarding potential technical issues and carry out the necessary actions to resolve them. In the event of technical issues related to the registration or maintenance of the domain, the technical contact is the entity that will be formally notified.
