Let’s assume you developed a WordPress website on a temporary domain or subdomain and it is now ready to be published on the final domain. This procedure is called a Clone and can be easily carried out through cPanel using the WordPress Manager by Softaculous feature.

When you select the Clone option, a form will be displayed where you must specify the new domain to which the installation will be cloned. It is important to note that the destination domain must already be configured within the same cPanel account. Next, you should define the new site name and confirm the information shown. To complete the process, simply click Clone Installation.

Once the process is finished, the final domain will have a new WordPress installation with its own dedicated database. The original installation will remain intact and will not be affected by this process.

Additionally, it is possible to create a Staging environment, whose process is very similar to cloning. This option is particularly useful for testing changes before applying them to the live production website.

Finally, the options Remove and Uninstall are also available and, although similar, they behave differently. The Remove option deletes only the WordPress installation while keeping the website files and the database. The Uninstall option completely removes the installation, including the website files and the corresponding database.
