Setting Up an Email Account in Thunderbird

To configure an email account in Thunderbird, follow the steps below:

1. Open Thunderbird

  • Launch the Thunderbird email client and select Set up an account: Email.

2. Enter Account Information

  • Fill in the following details:

    • Your name: Name to display on emails

    • Email address: Full email address

    • Password: Account password

  • Click Continue, then select Manual Config to adjust the settings.

3. Configure Protocol and Ports

  • Choose the protocol you want to use: IMAP or POP3.

  • Set the SSL type:

    • Without encryption: SSL = None

      • Ports: IMAP 143 / POP3 110 / SMTP 587

    • With encryption: SSL = SSL/TLS

      • Ports: IMAP 993 / POP3 995 / SMTP 465

  • Fill in the server fields:

    • Server hostname: Email server host (for Incoming and Outgoing)

    • Username: Full email address (for Incoming and Outgoing)

4. Complete Setup

  • Click Done.

Your email account is now configured and ready to use in Thunderbird.
