The .ch domain is the official top-level domain (TLD) of Switzerland, and its registration is available to any individual, company, or organization. This type of domain is very popular for both business and personal use, making it an excellent choice for websites or businesses targeting the Swiss market.

To register a .ch domain, any natural or legal person may do so. The domain name must be between 3 and 63 characters. In case of disputes, the Dispute Resolution Policy defined by the Registry applies.

Regarding transfers, providing the transfer code is mandatory. The transfer process does not include domain renewal, and the associated nameservers must be specified.

Renewals are possible if the domain is within its renewal period and are carried out for 1 year. This period begins 5 days before the domain’s expiration date, so renewal should be completed before this date to avoid domain suspension.

For technical updates, changes to nameservers may take up to 2 days to be fully completed.

In the event of expiration, domain restore is only allowed 14 days after deletion, maintaining the original expiration date. The restoration request must be submitted to the Registry and may involve associated costs.
